Mission Statement.

I will be walking from Ontario, CA to Washington DC in order to bring awareness to the forgotten soldier movement. To many men and women have been unable to receive any sort of help or treatment from the military due to unfavorable discharges stemming from service connected illnesses. Instead, they are forced to live a life of emotional turmoil and rejection from every facet of government assistance that would normally have been available to them had their incident not occurred.

There is a review board that paperwork can be submitted to, but they are currently back logged. I was informed by the V.A. that the current wait time to hear back from the Board was over 8 months from the time they accept your case.

Many of these veterans are unable to receive the needed medical attention to combat the service related illnesses, find employment or a support system. Many become homeless, incarcerated, fall into addiction or commit suicide.

I can no longer stand by and allow this mistreatment to continue. I hope one day this is no longer a problem. I hope to one day be more than expendable.
